Steam updates

Is anyone happy with the new steam?

I cant help but notice how fast it is changing from the basic store and community features. Steam workshop is there, there is a certain facebooky 'like' feature in the community, and status updates. Software and movies and ebooks are available. There is also a greenlight feature to release indie games. And I swear it wont be long till we see mobile apps. It's becoming a bit of a monster!

I think your right Wags, I only said the other day to someone it's turned into face book. I reckon there just trying to move with the times supply all they can to make a buck, as long as they dont forget there roots & keep our services going smooth.

there is already a steam mobile app for ios and android ..I'm sure like you its features will expand.. when i first got it all it did was let me logon and chat with friends..

Hey cheeks, my bad- I meant 'apps' as in little programs to run on the phone for sale by steam. In the range of a few dollars. It seems a lot of the strutcture is there.

Its just happening very fast and out of my control. I welcome some of the changes. For one the store is much nicer and the workshop is tops... but I wish they did something more individual than some of the facebooky things. facebook should be facebook by itself. steam as steam, I should have some say being a long time customer giving them my hard earned cash. I want the gaming to be priority rather than lots of time on the community page.

Yep - won't be long before Farmville makes it onto steam imo

I have never been a fan of steam and as a result approach all similar tools with scepticism because the controlling aspect of the application. This of course leads me to avoid their use which in turn makes me less than diligent in recording user names and passwords... which means... that I now have two Steam accounts! That's right I have two of em. {FB} Uncybob, which is my old and most used one, and Uncybob, my latest one which I started because I'd forgotten that I even possessed the old one.

So now I have bought a second copy of torchlight so that I have it on both accounts, largely so my young nephew can play it with me, but also because each account has different games.

My only concern is that the {Fb} Install will have none of the save games I had under the Uncybob account.

It's ok Zeb . I have decided to keep bth accounts cause it lets me run two games for my partners nephew to play some TL2 with me. thanks for your input any ways.

I am currently trying to get a good spread of character levels so I can slot in with any game at any time.

Am really keen to play some 50+ games... any takers?

I have a berserker and a mage on 2nd playthru now, so let me know.
