Game design software

A while back someone posted a few links to some game design software for making FPS environments. I can't find that post. Anyone remember who posted it?

I've got 2 major projects going on atm with one map is rpg the other is fps, the rpg I'm making a lush tropical environment with some old ruins with water flowing around with water falls on buildings and so forth.

Once I created the landscape I was going to make a rpg type game for it

My fps map has Aliens, even building a replica of the Galactica out of Battlestar Gallactica, Mountains with secret caves and what not winding through them but its on a considerable larger map than the above rpg one so will take ages to complete but its lots of fun.

I'm even considering buying some similar software for better graphics while the sandbox is fun and very cool to learn on and stuff about I think I would prefer something a bit more of the ability to create eye candy.
