one of the reasons i left telstra many yeas ago was they never informed me of plan changes. they expected me to check their site or call them to see if there was a better plan for me.. that and having to ask them to fix every bill for just over a year (wow i was patient) made me leave.. looks like things have not changed much.

    yep similar story here

due to adsl not being available at my previous address, i was forced to use bigpond wireless

i took out a 1 year contract when they were offering the first six months at half price. starting from the very first bill they tried to charge full price and every month for 6 months i had to phone customer support and argue about being charged full price when it was suppsed to be half price .. each time they 'fixed' it and told me it was sortout out and wouldn't happen again

once, ok. twice .. mistakes can be made, six times? yeh good one telstra .. so when the contract was up 1 year later i left

what really amazed me was when the sales person phoned to ask why i didn't want to renew - i explain all of the nonsense with billing mistakes, poor customer service, constant drop outs etc and he then says 'so besides those things, what did we do so badly that i can't convince you renew your contract ..' - i actually laughed out loud and asked him if he was joking.

he responded that he honestly thought those were not big problems and that i was being hasty in deciding not to renew - no wonder they cant do anything right if this is the kind of clueless fool they have working for them

come to think of it, they probably do it on purpose so they can charge you for some phone calls when you call to complain about their mistakes.
