Re: Music
Ah thats a bugger. Doubt I'll be able to go myself unfortunatly.
Yea I've heard their good snowy, main reason I want to go, but would be an awesome gig with both of those bands!

Re: Music
Propaghandi, a band from Canada. I only heard about them when they were doing a show at the Brisbane Hotel here in Hobart, couldnt get to the concert but have really gotten into their music. Some of their lyrics are pretty politically charged, but the music is awesome, to me anyway.

Re: Music
All you young whippersnappers and your modern "rock" or "pebble" music and whatever it's called. I like me some good old tunes:

Yea they do, I've been keeping an eye out there recently, even though I've never been there. Actually Hobart is getting some really good bands into the pubs lately, Dead Letter Circus at the Uni Bar for one.
And yea that sounds awesome mate, see what we can organise!
Nothing wrong with the old tunes at all!

Re: Music
Studio version is credited as Merry Clayton, I'm pretty sure its the same person.
After recording the album version duet with Mick Jagger, she suffered a miscarriage, apparently due to the effort put into the singing.

*Edit*
My bad, studio version is Merry Clayton.
That live version is Lisa Fischer.

Re: Music
Great band. Great songs. Great performance for an even better cause! Tour of Duty- Christmas 99 in East Timor for the troops stationed there and locals.

Gotta love how much both the troops and locals get into it

Re: Music
It is, my favorite cover of that song.
Their one of my favorite bands, and going by clips they really do earn the title of Australia's best live band. Just pissed off that on their "national" tour their skipping Tasmania.

Re: Music
What no Tassie tour? Shit I would have thought they would pull a decent crowd at Hobart or Launie?
Original version 9 minutes - the 4 minute version is enough.

Maryl Mansons version.

Re: Music
What a different spin on that song. I diddn't know the name of iit although after a bout a minute I clicked to which song it was. What's next, a similar revamped version of California Girls or Surfin USA?
