I don't watch the news mainly cause I'm at work when its on lol so am pretty out of touch with the happenings of the world like recent events the Christchurch Earthquake.

Are all our FB brethren ok?

Think all are ok Arise from what I've heard

Was a concerned more for Vsync after I heard a journalist building came down killing all inside given he is a camera man and we haven't heard from him I was worried

He is North Island, Gisborne

But sorry to say they might go next, get out now the big one is coming

Cheers for the concern Arise and all. At this moment I'm busy getting the canoe rigged up for the Tasman sea crossing. Just havin issues with a stable low ping wifi for the journey. Save a beer for me will ya.

Get a looong extension cord, a few power boards and a table. Move your computer etc out into the middle of a cow paddock and wait it out. Then if one hits the north island you'll be out in the open and nothing can fall on your head.

And, you'll be getting some fresh air while playing computer games

Thanks Whos, that cold one may be just the dangling carrot we'll need.

Its a weird thing when your, 'na wont happen to us country', is in trouble, the press pounds you with desperation and you start getting a little overwhelmed with the magnitude of it all. Not being able to help apart from donations makes you feel so hamstrung. Gaming or humour seems to be an excellent deviation, but reality is, its not going to go away.

The death toll now looks to be around 240.
Since September, get this, there have been more than 5000 earthquakes in Christchurch, thats just nuts.

Wow if I lived in Christchurch and I saw that, I'd be thinking it was time to move elsewhere.

On a side note - that map kept crashing firefox .. had to use chrome to view it .. anyone else have trouble with it?

That animation is just crazy, in a way I guess you could say that out of those 5202 since Sept. 3rd, 2 have been on a severally damaging scale, giving the circumstances things could be a lot worse.

Actually with the amount of deaths being reported... Probably not.
