Planetary Annihilation

OMG, OMG, OMG!! I've played thousands of hours of Total Annihilation and it is one of my favorite games ever, and I can't believe they're making a sequal! I'm planning on donating at least $50 for the Progenitor Commander, but I wish I could donate $5000 cause they'll name an in game unit after you. Seriously though.....awesomeness!!

Got to say as an anti-rts kind of gamer this looks good! really liking the concept of the planet hopping on the fly and the round playing fields. I hope they can really incorporate that from the concept video. i would probably give it a try. If I had the money to donate 5 grand for the privilege to get a unit named after me I totally would! What kind of beer best suits planetary annihilation? Something strong & hoppy as you watch your planet burn!!! excellent.

I have some interest in the supreme commander/total annihilation style games. I was looking for some slightly more realistic graphics though, In the spirit of the other games, no cartoony look. I'm undecided to back it or not.

I would like the better graphics, but I gotta say, the older/cartoony look lets ppl like me withan older computer get more out of that game than they might. As it is, I can run Supreme Commander all the way, but no anti-aliasing. Whole thing looks amazing overall, and I can't wait to crash asteroids into stuff!!

Everyone must spend much on videocards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As much as they can anyway.

The feeling one gets when seeing pristine gfx makes up for the cost !!! perfection !!!

To me, the graphics dont quite trump Supreme commander at the moment, its not quite there with the same massive detail and texturing. Supreme commander though was out back in 2007 and was very heavy on the cpu than the graphics. I can remember some of the larger maps totally cranked it. Same with total annihilation, I got that one to a slideshow in some epic battles.

It may look nice, but will it be a good game? There are plenty out there that look awesome but are totally crap games.

I'd say its hard for them to really fail, with this one dutchy. Given the support already and their catalog of games. In a nutshell I want a supreme commander 3 or total annihilation 2 what I have seen so far looks like a simpler version. I want explosions that look cool and large scale mayhem from these 2 games that pushes the pc!

Ah heck! excuse the double post, but bit of an update.

I caved and put 20 smackers down for it! It's doing pretty well at the moment and I'm really impressed of all the extra content thats going to be added and the updates since. 1.5 million is a great result so far too, and on a second look the planets are fairly big. ohboyohboy ohboy!
