odd warning.. has anyone else seen this
this just popped up.. not sure what caused it at first
i had started steam and TS3 for about 10min.. then pop
then i googled
http://www.overclock.net/nvidia-drivers-overclocking-software/291468-rivaturner-mmio-protection-system-failed.html
Rivatuna is a fan controller... but it does low level commands to finely tune the fan speed based on video card load.
so not sure what that has to do with Punkbuster..
do ya just love the mystery of computers

Re: odd warning.. has anyone else seen this
rivatuner is far more than a basic fan controller of sorts.......that warning is basically telling you that the "protect memory mapped I/O ports" function that you would have enabled during the initial rivatuner set-up is failing......it has everything to do with punkbuster and not at the same time.......rivatuner is trying to help protect you from the worm like software that is punkbuster
there is also usually memory buffer overflow protection as a selection somewhere within your BIOS set-up, usually in the same section that allows memory remapping over 3 gig for an x86 based system.......pretty much the same thing
punkbuster is now a necessary evil, but you still have to protect yourself against it without killing it........guess it would be akin to having it escorted through your system like its stolen something off a shelf within it
the only thing would be to uninstall both and update them.....don't know if that helps
