Just a few suggestions...
Perhaps, if it could be implemented, a quick-reply box at the bottom of a thread, so as to.. well, quick reply
As well as an underline or different colour for links.. the way it stands now its hard to tell what is a link and what isn't :\
But other than that the new forum is looking good! the New forums are distinct and the smileys are just hilarious

Re: Just a few suggestions...
I'll look into it.
Edit: Added Quick connect.
However still investigating link colour, having difficulties, it may be locked.

Re: Just a few suggestions...
I've been getting around this by adding 'color' tags inside the URL tags
for example...
produces
DOMOKUN RULES
clunky, I know, but it works
for example...
- Code:
[url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domo_(NHK)][color=blue]DOMOKUN RULES[/color][/url]
produces

Re: Just a few suggestions...
to make your link text automatically change colour on posting, it must be written into the themes colours css page
Re: Just a few suggestions...
Thanks Dutchy, so I'll need to revisit that again will I.
I tried a test in there awhile ago and when I changed it, it changed something else as well.

Re: Just a few suggestions...
yeah it can be pretty frustrating at times thats for sure......
and yes to do that you must revisit it.....or find an alternate bbcode to use

Re: Just a few suggestions...
wish I could remember the exact location in the css for it....tried looking last night, but it started looking like gibberish, must've been on the more than slightly tired side...
Re: Just a few suggestions...
so still haven't found it yet hey v?
and on another note......how exactly does the multi quote button work? why does it look different? do you want it to look the same as the rest?
if this forums is phpBB3 code(actually I guess it doesn't really matter), I already have the ability to add in steam id and xfire id under your profile in the right pane.....just like the little IM icons.....and just as you are thinking it, by clicking on that icon it gives the ability to add that person immediately.....it also shows their profile.......I modified the xfire id mod code to create the steam id mod code.......xfire code was by someone else.....but for it to blend in some new glowing red icons wouldn't go astray, and in case you never saw it on the ol DS site it was because it was never enabled on the main site only on our testing site
I found many steam id mods that never worked or were only half finished.....the one I modified works.....it also adds a section into Admin control, and for the user in their profile section

Multi quote works by selecting multiple quotes using the 'multiquote' button, one click on each quote wanted.
e.g., in this case I clicked the last three, then clicked 'post reply'. It then places them all in at once. Careful tho, if you click it twice it unselects it. I think having these two buttons separated in color is good so as not to confuse the different features they have.

Love to see those working Dutchy, have you a test site to check how she looks. Maybe we should make one if not and experiment with the code.
Let me know.

When I click the multi quote button, nothing happens. Do I need to select the other quotes before clicking the button? If so, where do I 'select' them? Is there a checkbox somewhere on the page I'm missing? Or is just a drag and select with the mouse, because that didn't seem to do anything either. Sorry - I'm a slow learner

Re: Just a few suggestions...
Its just a memory thing Zeb, its like Copy except if you press it again it takes away the memory. There is no visual appearance its just click. So find the threads you want to quote on and press there correspondent multiquote button just once per thread, then press post reply and they should show up. If only one came up you most likely clicked it twice or you only clicked multiquote on just one thread.
Just remember one click to memory, two clicks empty memory.
You'll also notice if you hover over the multiquote button it shows "select or unselect"

Like I said, we did have have a working test site, and this was a really easy mod to install.....once I had access to the database, there are a few lines of code that must be added manually into some pages, offhand I cannot remember which. But I can give a full set of easy to follow instructions for you to do it yourself, plus the code strings that must be installed into the database, it will not affect how the rest of the site runs. You just need some icons for the code to fetch when needed....

This is all Japanese to me. Shit Dutchy & you think I'm twisted, but that was my job. IT software and code writing? Give me thermodynamics anyday.
V sounds as if he is ready to turn freaky too - I just don't under computer code stuff.

Re: Just a few suggestions...
Don't worry CC, I use a very ancient formula called, 'FITFAB'. For those that haven't heard of it, shame. (V shakes his head) Once you grasp this formula and understand its complex power new doors open and before your eyes issues simply resolve, no kidding. I have untold testimonials and personal experience as to how successful this is. If anybody wishes to know more about this formula, let me know.{FB}CC2005 wrote:V sounds as if he is ready to turn freaky too - I just don't under computer code stuff.

Well Zeb its an old proven method, "F... it, time for a beer!" If it doesn't resolve after one, just keep applying the formula till problem solved.
